Some training is provided such as Volunteer Induction and online digital champion training. Community Event Engagement Volunteer to support the promotion and delivery of their key safety messages at events, Station Open Days and initiatives throughout the community. You may be asked to participate in local safety promotions, participate in activities to generate safe and well visits.
Fire Cadet Scheme Volunteer to support the Fire Cadet Instructors with the delivery of the National Fire Cadet Programme in the Service Area consisting of practical and classroom based elements to young people ages 13-17 years.
Service Admin Volunteer to work as part of a team to enhance services already in place with their daily tasks. General Office duties include use of IT equipment and software, telephone duties and data input.
Volunteers are needed in several different roles, depending on your skills and availability:
Search Helpers Join field search parties to help look for missing dogs in rural, urban, or wooded areas. Assist handlers by observing, reporting sightings, assisting with logistics.
Drone Pilots Use drones to cover large or difficult terrain quickly. Help with mapping search areas from the air, locating missing animals or tracing likely paths.
Poster Helpers / Community Flyers Create and distribute “missing dog” posters in the local area. Use social media and noticeboards to raise awareness.
Support & Coordination Assist with planning searches, organising equipment, liaising with dog owners, collecting sightings, tracking progress. Communication and admin support.
Support Volunteer (Swansea Group) Help people affected by MS get information about local and national services (care, benefits, etc.), assist with grant applications. Flexible commitment, approximately 2 hours/week. Must live in or near the Swansea area.
MS Awareness Volunteer (Swansea Area) Deliver awareness-sessions (via Zoom/Teams or in person) to partner organisations to increase understanding of MS, its symptoms, and how to support affected people. Signposting to relevant services, helping evaluate how effective awareness sessions are. Includes attending volunteer support groups, debriefing etc.
Volunteer Events Coordinator needed to help to deliver a variety of different events at Aberdulais Tinworks and Waterfall, from planning and preparation to setting up and running activities on the day.
Tearoom assistant. The tearoom is organised by Friends who work either morning or afternoon one day a week from 10-15am-1.45pm or from 1.15pm-4.45pm serving light refreshments.
All Independent Visitors are volunteers and they need no formal qualifications just a genuine and active interest in the welfare of children and young people. They are interviewed and on completion of an enhanced CRB check and references verified, they then receive accredited training. Once this has been verified the Independent Visitor is then matched suitably.
A Sitting Service Volunteer is required to cover all of NPT. To offer company and conversation to a person being cared for at home, whilst their carer takes a break for a couple of hours. No personal care required. No experience needed, however some qualities essential such as reliability, honesty and good communication skills. Some training is provided such as first aid, safeguarding and various awareness of disabilities. A DBS check will be required.
Community Companions. Can you spare a few hours a week to offer friendship and support to someone feeling lonely or isolated, or who need help getting out and about and back in to community life. This could involve having a chat over a cup of tea, going shopping, attending a local group or even going for a walk. You will experience first-hand the real difference you can make to someone’s life. You will also receive full training, learn new skills, meet new people and be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
Volunteer Befriender. You can help young people to increase their confidence and self-esteem. You will be positive role model, provide a listening ear and help young people to access to the local community. One-to-one visits will take place weekly at the young person’s home or out in the community. Full training provided and out of pocket expenses reimbursed
Ystradgynlais Neuro Cafe requires volunteers on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month to help out in the kitchen serving refreshments to clients who attend the group.
People's Collection Wales is a free website dedicated to bringing together Wales's heritage. The Collection is full of fascinating photographs, documents, audio and video recordings and stories that link to the history, culture and people of Wales. Volunteers are needed to help add names, locations and other valuable information to historical photographs, which can be archived and published for others to discover to help celebrate the Vales rich history from Neath to Pontneddfechan.
Being a volunteer at The Pontardawe Arts Centre entails several responsibilities; checking tickets on doors of auditorium being available to assist the audience at all times selling programmes checking areas are ready for public use Assisting with any first aid incidents Evacuating the audience if any emergency/incident occurs

Peer Mentor volunteers are required, you can give as little as one hour a week. You will be fully supported with training and on going support from the team.

Fundraising Champion Our Fundraising Champions are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting PKS. You will work alongside the PKS Team to support the charity, raising money in your area, identify new fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of PKS and their Services.

Administrative Support Assistant
Administrative Support Assistants ensure the smooth running of the office, keeping client records accurate and supporting advisers so they can focus on frontline work. Responsibilities include: Carry out data entry and update client files; Maintain accurate databases and filing systems; Answer phone calls and respond to emails where required; Assist with organising office paperwork and correspondence.
