A Childcare Worker Volunteer is needed to help with additional relief for childcare workers to cover increased demand. Hours vary from week to week. The role is based around encouraging and supporting the highest levels of childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 14 years of age, ensuring each child is treated as an individual and that their development needs are met on an ongoing basis. To offer diverse, safe stimulating and creative play and learning environment fostering positive language and role models that promotes and upholds Tiddlywink's equal opportunity policies. Operational Rescue Members
This role involves active participation in search and rescue missions. Candidates should have: A good level of fitness Ability to follow instructions Strong teamwork and communication skills Availability to attend intensive training sessions Training includes weekly sessions on Monday nights and full weekend training in the Brecon Beacons. Basic training can take 12 weeks, with advanced training extending up to 24 months, depending on individual progress

Community Car Scheme Driver Join the volunteer-run Community Car Scheme, which offers affordable transportation for local residents to medical appointments and other essential services. Drivers must be over 18 and possess a valid driving license. This role requires commitment and reliability.
Furniture Upcycler. Do you love to upcycle? Ystrad Recycling are looking for volunteers to upcycle and transform items of furniture that would benefit from some TLC to create a unique piece of furniture. This will include cleaning, painting and making small repairs if required.
Volunteer Gardener. Are you interested or have experience in gardening? We have our own Community Garden at Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre and are looking for some volunteers to come and help us. We have lots of vegetables and herbs. You can work at your own pace and learn new skills depending on your interest. No experience required.
A PAT tester is required to test all electrical items that have been donated to Ystrad Recycling for re-sale.
YVC Shed. A safe place where people of all ages can come together to work on projects such as repairing and upcycling furniture and repairing and maintenance of electrical items. All inclusive.
A Library Assistant Volunteer is needed to offer a friendly welcome to all members of the community using the library. Assist customers to locate books, talking books and DVDs. Assist customers with using the self service equipment Shelve stock and keep the library in a safe, tidy and attractive condition Refer customers who need further information or support to library staff
Ystradgynlais Rugby Club are looking for committee members to join the Board with specific skills, to assist with own future planning and survival of the club.
Trustees are needed to help ensure the organisation complies with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that the organisation is run within the objects, powers and procedures set out in its governing document. Trustees are expected to exercise their duty of care by pursuing sound business practices in running the organisation and to act prudently by ensuring the organisation’s continuing solvency by making best use of its assets and managing risks. Trustees come from all walks of life and bring a diverse range of skills and experience to the table.
Welsh Translator. We are looking for a volunteer to translate our Facebook and Twitter posts etc, into Welsh.
Volunteer Cafe Assistant is required to assist the cafe team. You will be required to serve customers, ensure tables and surrounding area are clean and tidy, take orders, operate the till and handle money also to undertake any other tasks required.
New members are required to help out at coffee mornings every Friday and/or to act as ushers for events. Gardeners are needed to help with tidying the grounds, sweeping up leaves, weeding and tidying the area around the Welfare Hall.

Minibus Driver -You will be required to transport people from Ystradowen and the surrounding area to and from the Community Centre. Also drive community groups to various local locations as and when required. You will need a full clean driving licence including category D1. MiDAS trained desirable but not essential. Manual Handling & First Aid training desirable but not essential as can be provided.
